Perceptron Introduces Helix-evo Sensor Family (Oct. 18, 2017)

Perceptron Introduces Helix®evo 3D Scanning Sensor Family

Built for the Plant Floor

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Oct. 18, 2017 — Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRCP), a leading global provider of 3D automated metrology solutions and coordinate measuring machines, today announced its latest 3D scanning sensor family, Helix evo, for in-line and near-line applications.

Helix evo takes scanning to the next level, improving performance through faster measuring and increased overall system robustness. Inside the IP67 rated housing, Helix evo utilizes a green laser to measure the multitude of materials used in today’s manufacturing, such as chrome, aluminum, sheet metal, and painted surfaces. Its best-in-class scan acquisition provides accurate feature extraction along with the pristine scan quality required for form analysis. Helix evo also uses a single Power over Ethernet cable which reduces the number of auxiliary components required, and is designed for fast and accurate measurement on the plant floor.

Dave Watza, President and CEO, commented, “Helix evo is a significant evolution in our Helix sensor family, providing vastly improved point clouds and plant-hardened build quality. Helix evo provides the data our customers need for quick, real-time resolutions, whether the root cause of their quality challenge comes from their assembly or stamping process.”

Over the next several months, Perceptron will be installing Helix evo systems on the plant floors of three key customers.

Perceptron will have two Helix evo systems on display in booth #507 at the Quality Show in Chicago, which begins on October 24.

Perceptron Awarded Multi-Plant, Multi-Station Project (Sept. 14, 2017)

Perceptron® Awarded Multi-Plant, Multi-Station Project for Helix® Dimensional Gauging Systems in Europe

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 14, 2017 — Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRCP), a leading global provider of 3D automated metrology solutions and coordinate measuring machines, announced that a prominent global automotive manufacturer selected Perceptron as their preferred supplier for in-line dimensional gauging systems in Europe over the next three years.

“This order is a strategic win for Perceptron and reinforces our unique competitive advantage in the automated inspection market,” commented Franck Bougon, Perceptron’s EMEA Director of Sales and Marketing.  “With each new order, we continue to prove our leadership role in 100 percent in-line inspections, testing well above our peers in extensive head-to-head benchmarking.”

“A key market differentiator is our Absolute Accurate system,” added Bougon. “Absolute Accuracy ensures optimal system performance and provides immediate quality information from the first part measured. The added value this capability brings – specifically for new model launch projects – sets Perceptron apart for current projects as well as future project wins.”

Installation is progressing for two plants which will receive multiple Helix gauging systems to automatically measure, record, and provide real-time feedback on key dimensional aspects of the vehicle from initial launch to full production. The systems will also be connected to Perceptron’s Central Server for high-level management process monitoring and reporting. All stations for the first plant are scheduled to be completed by early 2018.

Helix is Perceptron’s family of 3D scanning sensors that incorporates state of the art technology with sophisticated optics and mechanics. The laser line quantity, density, length and orientation characteristics are all user configurable and eliminate the need to physically move the sensor over the part while scanning. This flexibility enables scanning of multiple features from a single sensor position. Helix is designed for fast and precise measurement of complex geometries on the plant floor.

Perceptron Awarded Large Helix 3D Scanning Sensor Order in China

Helix Dimensional Gauging and Robot Guidance Solutions Offer the World’s First Fully Programmable Laser Scanner

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Aug. 04, 2017 — Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRCP), a leading global provider of 3D automated metrology solutions and coordinate measuring machines, today announced that a prestigious German automotive manufacturer selected Perceptron gauging and robot guidance for their manufacturing facility in China.

The project includes six stations in total: four in-line gauging, one in-line robot guidance for form and pierce, and one near-line closure panel gauging. All stations feature Helix sensors, including both structure-mounted and robot-mounted, to measure features such as threaded studs, hemmed edges and complex holes. Perceptron’s measurement algorithms allow measurement of non-standard hole shapes, which are increasingly used by manufacturers to error-proof their build process.

“This project is a part of a larger vehicle program whereby a similar platform is built at additional plants worldwide,” commented Rick VanValkenburg, Perceptron Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. “Perceptron has experienced execution teams around the globe which enables support at all of the customer’s assembly plants. Multiple country projects are very common in the automotive industry and Perceptron has a unique competitive advantage with our local install and support teams.”
